And then in the same way, in 1990, Sanjeev along with one of his friends started two companies named Indiamart and Info Edge and this company was started by Sanjeev from the servant’s room in his own house and being very professional, he He also used to pay ₹ 800 rent to his father for this room. Actually, he used to do entry level salary services in Info Edge, while the other company, Indiamart, was about trademarks and databases.
However, the company could not perform the way Sanjeev and his partner had thought and that is why Sanjeev started teaching in many institutes during weekends and from this he used to earn around two thousand rupees every month. However, later on, Sanjeev and his partner decided to separate and then in 1993, both of them took one company each and in this division, Sanjeev got Info Edge while his partner got Ind Mark. However, the company was left only in name because it was not getting any profit till now and due to this, to meet his basic expenses, Sanjeev again worked in a company as a consulting editor for the next few years. .
But friends say that the fruits of hard work may be received late but they are definitely received. And then the same happened with Sanjeev also. In fact, in 1996, when an exhibition was organized inside IIT Delhi, Sanjeev also attended this event and this was the period when the Internet had just started in India and then in this exhibition he saw a stall on which WWW was written. And then when he reached the stall for more information about it, he was given complete information about the Internet and from here he got the idea for Naukri.com for the first time.
In fact, at that time, be it college students or working people, everyone used to see job advertisements in the daily newspaper and this was the only medium to get a job till that time. And then from here Sanjeev, considering the future of the Internet, decided to create Naukri.com. Where the focus is only on job vacancies instead of useless news. However, creating and hosting a website in India was not so easy at that time because only a very few people knew the programming language and that is why only a few shares of the company were given to them to manage and create the website.
And then finally after struggling for many years, Sanjeev started Naukri.com and this website was launched in 1997 with a thousand ads. And friends, because the Internet was quite new in India at that time, people were very curious to know about it. Besides, journalists and news anchors also gave a lot of coverage to Naukri.com and this was the reason that very soon the traffic on Sanjeev’s job portal increased rapidly.
